McWilliam’s 2014 On the Grapevine Chardonnay

The wine is a pale straw in colour with a brilliant shine. The nose kicks off with some minerally limestone, yeasty lees and a hint of creamed honey that I had on toast as a boy. The palate is different in a good way as it is full, lush and creamy in texture, Its taste takes me to think of a honey suckle flower, as there are floral hints together with light notes of honey. The finish is long and crisp, It is not a buttery style as on the label which I love. With its texture and clean finish I suggest it would go nicely with grilled sardines on a Napoli sauce 16/20 Cheers Gaz
