Pipers Brook 2003 Bordeaux blend

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc
A rich dark red brick in colour with a lovely glisten that is holding its age of 13 years extremely well. A little dusty oak on the nose followed by dark black fruits of mulberries and cassis. Silky smooth on the palate with a full and viscose feel, the oak is still present with mixed dark fruits just hanging around and some green twigs. The finish is super long but at the same time quite thin, still nice tannins and acid but a little of its integrity has been lost due to age. A very nice Bordeaux blend that has peaked already, it was delicious and match well with our char grilled rib eye and mush. 17/20 Cheers Gaz
