Tyrrell’s 2013 Moon Mountain Chardonnay, Hunter Valley

A pale straw in colour. Nice oak up front with some baked pavlova, teasing me in to thinking back to old school chardy style yeah. The palate is full, rich and creamy none of that crisp apples here just ripe peaches and new oak, nice tannins and balanced acid great drinking with 3 to 5 years ageing by why wait ? It would be lovely with a char grilled calamari salad. This is a great wine for the price Cheers Gaz

Tyrrell’s 2012 Moon Mountain Chardonnay

A light straw in colour. Citrus notes with apple and apricot blossom, a little bit of dry grass. Clean and crisp, the fruit seems a little bit riper and the acid has softened, There are nectarines and white peaches with the acid in balance. Drinking nicely now Cheers Gaz

Lovers not Toreadors 2013 Tempranillo

Ribera Del Duero, Spain
A dark plum in colour that is sparkling like a Ruby under the down light. A hint of oak pops out with a tickle of my nostrils from a gentle waft of alcohol. With a swirl of the glass and some coaxing cherries and chocolate appear. From the nose to the palate the chocolate and cherries flow with slightly grippy tannins that balance against a smooth silky feel, a little white pepper on the finish. We enjoyed this with a well matched char grilled porterhouse. 14/20 Cheers Gaz
