Hugel Alsace 2000 Riesling Riquewihr Alsace, FranceLight gold in colour, with a brilliant sparkle like a canary argyle diamond. The nose offers some dried apricots and apricot blossom, then some Damp hessian!!! Oh no. Few, just some bottle stink that has gone now. Giving up seaside mineral lime stone and apricot kernel. Very dry with some kerosene oiliness, a bit dull maybe in a flat spot. Starting to develop a little apricot kernel and burntish white peaches like on a peach flan. We enjoyed this with a confit of salmon as per Shannon Bennett’s recipe.
