Drummonds 2000 pinot noir
Corrina Vinyard, Leongatha, Sth Gippsland
An oldie but a goody, this wine was actually made by Phillip Jones of Bass Phillip fame.
Upon removing the cork! Yes an old school method of keeping wine in while allowing it to breath, who knew? The first whiff gives cinnamon & vanilla spice, leading to some bracken and earthy notes. After some time to breath all combine with dark red fruits and a back bone of lovely vanilla oak. Big, full and so smooth as per the nose and more, bring on a wedge of “d’Affinois” and kick back for the day.
