Emperor’s Prize 2011 Yarra Valley Chardonnay

Its bright, shiny and a pale straw in colour. The nose gives some freshly cut grass and lime stone, then a hint of struck matches, (phosphorus) or sulphur? A lush palate of very ripe peaches and apricot kernel’s. The finish is tight and crisp due to good acid, there is some lingering sulphur. To balance the acidity maybe try some oily sardines crusted with parmesan and deep fried, serve with a salad and Napoli sauce.
Cheers Gaz
