Yarra Burn 2008
Pinot Noir, Victoria – Aust, 01/02/2012
The colour and the shine of the Ruby glass in a lead light
window, with a glisten like the flat morning water before a ski. A nose of
freshly picked field mushrooms with some earth still on the stalks and a hint
of black cherries. Full of flavour with nice hit of acid followed by some ripe
cherries and a little bracken fern with a wide and smooth feel to it. It is a
nice all around wine, not so simple when given some time to open up. I had it
with a Veal and tomato rogue on pasta which it stood up quite well. But it was
a perfect match with the marrow in the shin bones that I saved till last.
Cheers Gaz
