Sauvignon Blanc grapes age in
charred oak barrels to impart a textual feel with a hint of oak.
It’s a pale straw in colour with
tropical fruits up front followed by white peaches and a hint of limestone.
The palate is like the nose with white peaches
with a textual feel from being on Lee’s in the charred barrel that gives a
lasting finish. It would go well with a summer salad of blue swimmer crab on
rocket and mandarin segments, with a sprinkle of pomegranate seeds.

McGuigan 2015 The Brothers Shiraz SA
A dark black cherry in colour with a nice glossy
shine. The nose brings dark ripe berries, fruit of the forest jam comes to
mind. I cannot find any oak it is just pure fruit driven. It is a simple easy
drinking Shiraz, nice fruit of mixed berries that is very and smooth. A nice
wine that seems to have been crafted to drink young. We enjoyed it with a
charred grill scotch fillet, 15/20 Cheers Gaz
